GOD’S WORD – the Lifeblood of Spiritual Growth

Jesus promised, “If a man remains in me, and my words remain in Him, he will bear much fruit.” Jesus and His Word are the lifeblood to a growing, active faith. Only through His Word and sacraments do we trust the Holy Spirit to produce all His fruits of love, joy, peace, etc… That’s why Faith Lutheran’s mission has always been to “teach a life of faith in Christ through His Word”.

During May, please join us as we begin the second half of the book of Romans. This study will include a discussion on the challenging doctrine of election, an explanation of living a “sacrificial” life, a look at the purposes for which God uses earthly governments, and an encouragement to foster a godly fellowship with others of the same faith.

Our Sunday Bible study hour will not stop for summer! Instead, Pastor is organizing what he hopes is a very practical series of classes to help equip our members to minister to others with the Word. Below is a preliminary list of ideas. He would like your thoughts on other similar areas you would like to study.

Finally, as our board of elders forms, we hope to build further Bible study opportunities outside of Sunday morning. Building off past years’ success, we hope to run another series of “small group studies” during the second half of summer. These study groups meet in people’s homes for 4-6 weeks to foster relationships within our church that are rooted in God’s Word and growing together in God’s Word.
